Palp. מַרְטֵיט to pull to pieces, to divide, plunder. Targ. Job 16:11 מְמַרְטֵט ed. Lag. (Ms. מרטיט, Var. מְמָרֵט Pa.; h. text ירטני). Targ. Ps. 39:3 כיבי ממרטיט he lacerates my wound (h. text נעכר).Ḥull.92b ממרטט ליה he pulled the fatty fibres out (going to the root). Ithpalp. אִיתְמַרְטֵט, אִימַּ׳ to be torn to pieces, dismembered. Ab.
